This is a non-fiction narrative about Dr. Paul Farmer who has dedicated his life to curing the world of disease and poverty. Paul is a genuine hero alive in our times.It makes you feel like cheering. It made me uncomfortable and exhilarated simultaneously. It made me re-evaluate my own contribution to my fellow human beings. His message is to do our best even if we are defeated ,for it is in the vision of possibility and the application of action regardless of outcome that we find redemption of our own soul. It reads like a novel and is more powerful because it is not. Tracy Kidder has given us not only an unforgettable book, he has given us an unignorable life lesson!
